Meta Tag In SEO

Meta Tags give the visitor the extra information about the website he will be visiting. Few people say that Meta tags are not useful on your page because search engines don’t give them much importance. They are wrong. There are different types of Meta tags but generally three are important among them –
Meta title, Meta descriptions & Meta keywords.
Meta Description – This feature allows you to influence the description of web page that is supported by search engines.
Meta titles refers to the title of the webpage, you can insert keywords there for better SEO. These titles appear on the page titles that appear on the top of the page window on explorer, Firebox, etc.
Meta Keywords: These are special words that provide the extra information to the spiders and crawlers. The keywords help you in finding the right audience. They also help in generating quality traffic to the website. In the content only 5% of keywords are used within the content. The right density of the Meta keywords & use of appropriate content helps the search engines in determining the position of the web page. Secondly it is these keywords that increase the visibility of the site on search engines. This is prime reason why need to research and look for the right keyword. Now you might be thinking that about the length of keywords & what words should we use when they are an integral part of SEO. Well that depends on your business and how well known you are. Usually the short keywords are used for targeting the large market group and longer keyword are for targeted group, for smaller markets.
